This review is from: Why am I sick?: What’s really wrong and how you can solve it using META-Medicine (r) (Paperback)
This book is a MUST READ for anyone exploring mind-body connections. Richard Flook, a Master Trainer in NLP, has helped to develop Meta-Medicine® a method of identifying and releasing the neuropsychological roots of pain, stress and distress.A Meta-Medicine® practitioner clarifies when and where in people’s lives they were traumatized and how those traumas imprinted themselves in their bodymind to cause psychological and physical symptoms and diseases. Such shocks include the following elements: they are unexpected, dramatic and isolating, and the person has no strategy for dealing with them. Once having identified these crucial issues, a person may use any of a variety of techniques to release them, such as NLP, WHEE, EFT, etc.
What makes this approach and book unique are the brain scans which demonstrate rings in particular areas of the brain associated with the symptoms. For instance, a person with lung disease may demonstrate a ring in the area of the brain related to lung functions. This is very exciting, pioneering confirmation of the mind-body connection.
Right- or left-brain hemisphere functions may be affected by stressors. When a person experiences a major stress, this may block functions in one side or the other. When both sides are affected, symptoms are more likely to manifest. Making it a point to identify and clear symptoms related to each side of the brain and clearing both leads to rapid releases of the symptoms and illnesses.
I was fortunate to be able to work with Richard at the Healing the Healers Conference in Iceland in October, 2009. Richard helped a woman identify traumatic issues in her life that manifested in bodymiind expressions as a bipolar disorder. We used WHEE to release aspects of these issues, and hopefully will be able to observe changes in the course of this woman’s life.
I have one serious criticism, however, of Richard’s theoretical framework. He identifies the levels of Mind, Body, Spirit, Social and Environment as defining a person’s life experiences. Do you notice any important element missing? In my personal experience and in helping others resolve their life challenges, difficult Emotions are crucial to identify and resolve.
This is a landmark book that will be a help to anyone seeking to understand and address the mysteries of health and illness.

This review is from: Why Am I Sick?: What’s Really Wrong and How You Can Solve It Using Meta-medicine (Paperback)
“Why am I sick?” in a few words is easily one of the most interesting books I have ever read. It does a fantastic job of explaining this new approach to health called META-Medicine and the book is possibly the prime source of information for licensed META-Medicine Health Consultants (of which I am training to become after being first introduced to META-Medicine late 2008) and lay people alike.
The book goes into many things in detail such as the distinctive two phases of every disease, why we do not get cancer of the heart, the extent to which a Doctors’ method of communication can affect a patient and their healing and even the biological cause of homosexuality. Richard draws upon his own experiences of disease and shares his stories of success.
This book is incredibly in-depth and comprehensive so I recommend that it is read slowly. So much of the information in this book goes completely against many of the deeply rooted and aggressively guarded beliefs about illness and disease. To take it all in at once and not immediately reject it, because it is so different, requires a substantial amount of open-mindedness. Richard does not try to convince you of anything in “Why am I sick?” and instead seems to promote free thinking above anything else. He considers both sides of the story when discussing topics such as vaccines, microbes and the metastasis of cancer cells and encourages the reader to do their own research, providing references to various books and studies.
Some of the most valuable parts of “Why am I sick?” are the many case studies and examples that Richard provides; these personal stories of struggle and transformation are truly fascinating and contribute a lot to the impact this book has. After reading the book twice and now re-reading it for the third time I highly recommend that you read “Why am I sick?” and challenge the assumptions you have about the medical profession, medicine and disease.
What if there were fundamental problems with the current system of conventional medicine? What if there were solutions that could begin to be integrated now? What if disease was not an error of the body but a system of feedback with a meaningful purpose and specific cause? “Why am I sick?” has been written to answer these very questions and it does so very well.

This is probably the most useful and informative book I have ever bought and I have bought many!
It gives a whole new insight into how and why people experience illness in their lives and coupled with EFT and Matrix Reimprinting, gives many of the tools required to heal.
I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone interested in getting to the root of health problems and dealing with core issues.

Words fail me. I’m going to attempt to find some because this book deserves a positive review – to acknowledge the outstanding work of the authors, and to encourage others to pick up and read this book…I’m just not sure I can deliver the review it deserves. This book has changed the way I look at illness, injury and dis-ease forever. I genuinely felt like a penny was dropping somewhere in my mind on every page – it was like finding the missing link. It is my sincerest hope that as time goes on, as more people read and absorb the information in this book and books like it, as we take decisive control of our own health, and start asking ourselves, our Dr’s and consultants the right questions, we will see our healthcare services go through the radical transformation they so desperately needs. There is another way, a better way – I truly believe META-medicine is that way. This is a must read for everyone working in health care, from allopathic to holistic/alternative. Highly recommend

I am new to META-Medicine and am deeply impressed over this book.
Being an EFT Therapist and having had more than 600 clients, I have searched everywhere to find more effective ways to treat my clients.
This book seems to lay the foundation for that.
I have already decided to study the material as far as I can go.
This book is MINDBLOWING!
